Don't be an idiot. This is the GOLDEN RULE of this forum. You as forum-goers are probably reasonably familiar with how not to be an idiot, but if you would like to see the nuances of stupidity not tolerated around here, by all means read on.
Please note that "I did it for the lulz" as an excuse WILL wear thin when a situation has clearly become serious beeswax and that most of these rules are not iron-clad.
I. No pornographic images or material are to be posted (without warnings). Durr.
II. No spamming/trolling. This includes making posts saying "yes" or "lol", and other useless one word answers. No emoticon only posts unless they're actually really funny. Make an effort to have some actual content in your OOC posts.
III. Try to keep conversations on topic.
IV. No carrying petty arguments. You know what I mean. Somebody was mean to you IC, or called you ugly OOC. You're mad, and that's okay. As long as you resolve it quickly, or keep it off the boards if you don't. Not only does nobody else care, nobody else wants to read it, and nobody else will be your friend if you keep it up. Especially not me.
V. Avoid starting fights, too. No creating topics only to attack another member. No baiting people for a fight if you know they'll fall for it. Don't cry if you get insulted, either. The first password is nightmare. If it's serious, tell staff, if you handle it yourself then you open yourself up to be punished with whoever insulted you. In most cases, you should just take it like a man and promptly forget it happened. Internets are not serious business after all. But if you have issues with harassment, we're happy to resolve them on your behalf.
VI. Your opinion is not autocorrect. People will differ from you, in opinion or otherwise. Respect people for who they are. No discrimination by race, religion, or gender.
VII. Curse at your own discretion. Sometimes it's just not all that damn necessary.
VIII. Have fun. I mean it, now! >O
