How long had it been since he reached this so called ”Paradise”? Days? Weeks? Perhaps even a month? It was only supposed to be a simple reconnaissance, but instead, this place that was paradise was a trap. As intruders to this place, they suffered the consequences. They never suspected of the abilities, and they thought they could handle themselves. They were only half right. They couldn’t save themselves, not all of themselves at the very least. Half died, another half taken, and now the last of them survived along and desolate as always. It was unfortunate and something unexpected.
The prickled flower of the Fourth Division had stood at the edge of the lake. His latest discovery at his ankle right there standing with it’s reflection in the water. It’s pink skirt that was it’s petals had reflected into the water and it’s stem bending slightly as if it was a neck that was letting the head lower to see it’s reflection. It’s center having more than five unusual stigmas. A rare specimen of a flower in the last world or the next only found here. A wonderful discovery that would probably help one make an excellent herbal cure or remedy. What was the sacrifice for this beautiful plant and at what cost?
The other flower…the prickled one that is had let his eyes droop sadly. Their violet color drifting from his reflection to the flowers. If this flower had a story behind it’s discovery and up to this point, it would be filled with sadness, unfortunate twists, and untold amounts of pools of blood. The young shinigami’s face was straight, and then a small wrinkle of the lips showing it crack with a small frown. The more he looked at this flower, the more he could think his mission was a success. Then again, the cost was heavier than the quality. If this flower could bring back the dead, it would be worth it. He only prayed for this miracle as hard as he could, but the chances were slim.
He sighed pitifully at his own reflection. He was no fighter. He couldn’t draw his zanpaktou to attack with, but he could defend for his life. Defend almost any life, but if only he would’ve fought back, then maybe…just maybe, they would’ve had a chance. He was told it wasn’t necessary, but could they ever be more wrong? All he could do now was hope that things worked out. He sat on a surface of a nearby large rock and looked afar into the glistening waters. The plant sat there still drooping. No wind to let it sway today, nor to let him either.

Behind the fourth seat a young woman's voice sounded softly, as if trying to rouse a sleeping thing, her voice gentle, sweet "You doing alright..?"
A woman was clothed in the shinigami's shihakusho, and had a wooden plate attached to her left arm by a white clothe and had two short katanas sitting upon either side of her broad, swaying hips. The woman sat down beside the Squad Four member and brought her legs up to her chest, resting her chin upon her knees, looking rather cute. Her deep, but bright blue eyes stared at the watery surface before her for a moment until she looked at Xeon with a little smile and she sifted her hand through her sandy blonde, spikey hair.
She was Sato Koemi, the Squad 13 Lieutenant, and one of only a couple people known to have duel zanpakutos, Captains Ukitake and Kyoraku also had duel zanpakutos as their shikai, she.. had two seperate swords, shikai and regular..
"You seem kinda sad.." she said, trying to have Xeon open up and talk with her. Sure.. she knew the past few.. well.. however long they were there were tough.. Most of the casualties were Stealth Force members though.
A little further behind the two shinigami was a woman dressed in all white with the blue Quincy cross along her long white battledress. She stayed far away from the two, but close enough to where if any other shinigami were to try and attack her, she'd be able to call upon Sato for help.. if necessary.. Her angry, bright green eyes stared upwards at the ceiling of the large cavern in which the beautiful waterfall as cascading down in and she ran a hand along her calm, violet-black hair. She looked tired and worn out. Her reiatsu was rather low as well, but upon her hip was a small brown bag that tinked everytime she moved, mostlikely full of the little silver tubes she most likely recently filled.
The Quincy woman crossed her arms underneath her chest and shut her eyes, as if sleeping while standing as she leaned against a cavern wall.

Xeon had gasped hearing the voice and soon not peering to his side to catch this woman in his own eyes, but rather the reflection he had saw in the water. They way they seemed to be reflected, it was almost as if the flower was sitting between them dividing them from where they stood with it’s slumping manner. He had given the image a good look in the waters as he could identify something that stuck out; that lieutenant’s badge. It had caused him to act as if he was lowly as he closed his eyes and let his head droop by little to not show weakness.
”Lieutenant….” he had spoke in his gentle voice before opening his eyes to a half mesmeric show. ”I-I‘m quite alright. I‘m just…reminiscing.” true enough, he was doing just that, but he reminisced only like it was yesterday, but really it was best said to be a few weeks ago. His intrusion here only brought his medical squad and the ninja that they supported disaster. One of their own succumb to the madness of this so called “Paradise” was a shame, and yet, it made him feel so helpless as he had to take it upon himself to ask Rosemary to end that madness. He didn’t draw his sword, but the Black Root was more than enough to take care of the problem. Now…all that left behind was regret.
”I‘m sorry if you have to see me in a moment of weakness. It‘s just…this-this place has taken something dear to me, and not even victory would be enough to fill the hole of my failure to prevent that.” the young seated member had explained as he sat in shame closing his eyes. Solemnly, he had let his prayer reach out from his mind in a sincere manner. Such an ending, and such a terrible result for this mission. It wasn’t over, but with such a loss, it might as well been not worth the effort.

The lieutenant pouted her lips out in thought, looking at the water in thought, shifting her dirty-blonde hair behind her ear.
She relaxed her cheek into her knee, looking at the fourth seat, staring at him, as if she were waiting on him to tell her to bug off or tell her what was on his mind, and as if to help it along, the gentle woman spoke softly "Sometimes telling a friend what's on your mind is the next best thing to try and feel better. Then again.. I'm sure whatever it was that was taken from you cannot be replaced or made better.. but we can try.. hm?"
She sat up straight and stretched, and spoke again, trying to lessen the tension that hung in the air "But, I understand if you don't wish to tell me. It could be personal."
Looking to the flower that acted almost like a divider between the two, Sato gave a gentle smile "It looks like a Gekkabijin Tuberose.. my favorite flower.. you may know it as a Moonlight Cinderella.. it's a very pretty flower, white in color and has thin, cactus-like vines for petals.. It blooms only at night.."

Xeon had mused when he would’ve sighed. It was almost as if he was tempted to speak, but yet, he stayed close at that moment. He wasn’t the type to press his burdens and take out his own problems on someone else, and he wasn’t going to start now. He had stared into the lake, but pretty soon his attention shifted to the strange flower he found in this world as he listened to the lieutenant speak a bit intrigued by her choice of flower.
”A Moonlight Cinderella? That description sounds almost similar to a White Rose…” he had said as his head lowered in thought as he stared dreamily into the flower. ”Charm….Secrecy…Silence…Reverence…Humility…Youthfulness…and innocence.”
Speaking each little trait of the flower by heart, he had felt a little comfortable all a sudden speaking to her. A White Rose was a good sign, a very good sign since a Moonlight Cinderella would mean much of the same, but the thought that it was at night time that her favored flower had bloomed had shown that these qualities showed for this girl at times of dark or even times when one was needed.
Freely he spoke as he felt a bit more comforted. ”Hmm…I guess. The thing that I lost hear, was the health units of Squad four that I was leading as well as other division members that required our aid. It seemed as if this place called ‘Paradise‘ was more than they could bear.” he had explained slightly frowning, weakly trying not to let that get to him. It would send even more depressing if he would return and give that very report to the Head Captain. Even though she would understand, to give such news made him feel as if he failed this mission anyway.

Sato watched the male shinigami list off the traits that lay hidden in a flower and smiled, nodding "Yeah.. sounds like my Moonlight Cinderella. And me."
Behind the two, the Quincy woman gave a silent scoff "Innocent my foot.."
Sato shot an almost evil grin to the Quincy and stifled a giggle. She looked back to Xeon and her face fell solemn "I see.. I'm sure Captain Unohana would understand.. You're still here, so that's something to thin about."

Xeon had given the Quincy a glance and took the moment to give an awkward stare back to the lieutenant. It was a bit puzzling what they could be referring to for him since he was one to not be so worldly considering when he died. To say the least, he was the innocent closed and shy type that didn’t speak much. Digressing from that, hearing his captain’s name had pulled him back to Earth as he simply nodded his head agreeing to her guess.
”Y-yes…I guess she will. Who would‘ve predicted this area‘s strange features, but I‘d like to think I wasn‘t prepared and I let my guard down after completing our mission targets. I think that was considered a fool‘s mistake and others have paid for it.” he had said pitying himself. ”I‘m probably just overlooking this. Every since I transferred to Squad four, I‘ve just felt doubts as if I don‘t belong and the captain is just letting me adjust at my own pace. I‘d rather that wasn‘t to be.” he had explained.

Sato smiled, nudging against the male shinigami playfully, trying to lighten the mood "I'm sure the gracious Captain has a plan for you. You're fourth seat for a reason, right? I'm sure she wouldn't have chosen you if she knew you weren't going to make your mission a success.. right?"
She slipped off her tabi shoes and socks, setting them to the side as she lifted her hakama up as she dipped her feet into the water, and stretched "Everything is done for a purpose. There are no 'coincidences'. It's no coincidence that Kaien-sama died.." Her face fell a little at the mention of the previous Squad 13 lieutenant, but brightened as she moved on "..it's not coincidence that Ukitake-taichou chose me over Kiyone-chan and Sentaro-kun to be Lieutenant instead.. Everything has a reason behind it.. whether we know what they are or not. I believe humanity calls it 'destiny'."
Running a slender hand through her hair, she smiled slowly as her thoughts wandered to a certain bald 3rd Seat.. "No.. coincidence that people fall in love.."
She looked to Xeon and smiled "Get what I mean?"

”To my honest Lieutenant…I was to be placed under the Division Twelve’s research and development seats, but Ms. Unohana was the one to vogue for me.” he had admitted as he stood up and slowly approached the flower. ”I‘ve never told anyone before, but it was because m refusal to fight that I had no place in the original division eleven. I was defined as…useless.” he had said remembering the expression on Kenpachi’s face as he said that.
”The only reason I am to think that I was asked to be in the twelfth division was so that they would no doubt get a hold of the sample of one of my plants to study. They find my ability to use Kidou by cooperating with nature’s floral bounty as interesting. It’s a shame! Such a man is so eager to gain information that he doesn’t realize that these plants, these so called mediums of mine are nothing more than the plants that help us breath everyday of the lives if we were in the world of the living.”
His right hand had reached out letting his fingers uncurl slowly as if being gentle, careful even. It simply touched the stem of the drooping plant as he had given a simple glance and his lips breath a small breath as he spoke. ”Meet Rosemary…” at that moment of his words, his sealed Zanpaktou at his side had simply given a small precise ring that could be compared to a pin drop. The plant had started to stop slumping as it begin to stand tall once more. Soil wasn’t enough, and as long as they were in this world carrying this plant in a pot, he would have to keep it alive just like this.
”I still have her to thank…Ms. Unohana.” At that moment, he could remember the expression on her face as she smiled at him as he was welcomed. She had complimented on the nice flower he had sitting in his hair, and then he smiled slightly. ”When I first met her, she asked me the strangest question. It was…’What chair do you think you should have?’ I could do nothing more but look at her strangely. I wasn‘t sure why‘d she asked such a question. I‘d think it was because she was probably aware of my strengths and skills that I‘ve kept secret, but I doubt it. I could only respond by picking a number between one through seven, and I simply said four, and then she said 'Well then, Xeon Hubaru, I assign you to be Seat Four of Sqaud Four, starting now.' That's when I felt that me being different was acceptable.”
It was a strange feeling. Things did happen for a reason, and that recollection was nothing short of it. Maybe she did have a plan for him, but it was one he wasn’t aware of maybe. Smart, but the moment he joined this division, things were unpredictable. He had never felt so…what was the appropriate word to describe it? Free? Yes! That was it! Still, that’s what bothered him. Instead of a highly trained Shinigami, he felt like he was some sort of spoiled one. He knew his captain would never do such a thing, but it was just the feeling alone that poked at him.

The lieutenant slowly nodded as he spoke, watching the flower seemingly just come right back to life. Sato's eyes widened slightly "That's.. really cool..!"
She leaned toward the flower as it regained it's beauty one more and lightly stroked the petal "It's very beautiful."
After a moment, she leaned back and looked up at Xeon and gave a soft laugh "Well.. to be honest.. Ken-chan thinks fighting is the only way to solve things. Squad 11 is a bunch of idiots who fight to the death, but they're a good bunch of idiots.." She couldn't help but giggle at the half-insult.. Ikkaku would probably hit her in her head for such a comment..
Upon the mention of Squad 12, the Quincy behind the two of them made an audible, angry noise, tensing up as she gripped her own arms angrily, speaking softly in an unknown language, probably her native one..
Sato glanced back at the Quincy, feeling a little bit of sorrow and pity for her, turning back to Xeon, smiled at he mentioned Unohana-futaichou and her graciousness she always presents to everyone.
"Like I said.. Unohana-futaichou has a plan.. eve if you don't understand it. Heck, I sometimes don't understand my own plans, y'know?"
The Squad 13 lieutenant stood and smiled "I'm sorry.. I forgot to tell you my name.. how rude of me." She rubbed the back of her head shyly, and held out her hand as if she were embarrassed "I'm Koemi Sato.. but please.. call me by my last name.. I hate my first.. Eh hehe.."
The only person that even dared to call her by her first name, Koemi, was Ikkaku.. and she allowed it only because between the two of them.. it was a precious thing only they could share.

Xeon had let his legs extend as he stood tall as the flower had looking towards the Lieutenant. Even in his most delicate form and manner, he seemed like a seated member that was near harmless or gentle, but this was still a lie to his battle method if there ever came a time to it. He nodded confirming to the name of the lieutenant.
”It’s very nice to meet you Ms. Sato. You may call me Xeon.” he had spoken with a smile on his face. It was unusual for him to go by his title. If anything, he was referred to as the flower of the fourth division since his specialty was….well…flowers! If anything, he didn’t think too much of it, but hearing guys refer to you as flower would make you want to show your thorns when they took it as a joke.
”Excuse me for asking…but I never got a chance to ask why exactly was it that you’re here.” he had asked curiously with his face showing a bit of curious worry. Now that he thought about it, he didn’t take the time to even collected data on why this place still was.
((Short! I'm at school and I have to leave.))

Sato blushed at his question and rubbed the back of her head shyly, as if she got caught with her hand int he cookie jar "Well.. Ukitake-taichou wanted to know more information about this.. Paradise.. and I offered to go that way Kiyone-chan and Sentaro-kun could stay behind and help taichou in my place. I'm here to gather information on the enemies, really and report back when I've completed my data collection."
She pointed over to the Quincy woman "That's Nathifa. She's only here because I brought her here."
Nathifa scoffed, murmuring something to herself with a frown, looking away, a mixture of sadness and anger in her eyes.
The lieutenant blinked and rubbed her head again "Then again.. I think I brought her here with me so I wouldn't be lonely.."

It was a bit awkward, but it was understandable as Xeon couldn’t help but to smile. ”That‘s nice. It‘s good not to try to take on things alone…but it doesn‘t seem like your friend is ordinary. Is she from the world of the living?” Xeon had asked curiously. Her clothing and what she were had been a sure sign. Surely it wasn’t a Shinigami’s outfit. That was obvious enough without the need for him to even point that out.
It brought back memories. It had been so long since he had been to that world before. His memory of being alive was hazy. Three siblings in a picture, one by one, all three had fallen from view, but he was pretty sure there was one that was alive and out there alone crying over his fallen body. A matter of fact, it was recent that he saw that and he understood they left him alone. What was his name? It was only a memory now as he had broke his train of thought and focused back on this lieutenant and strange figure she brought with her.

"Yeah.. she is," Sato replied slowly, her deep blue eyes looking over to her friend with a smile.
"I'm a Quincy.. almost the last of my kind.. no thanks to Mayuri.." she said bitterly, 'The only other Quincies are Ishida-san and his father.." As if on cue to the mention of Ishida, her face fell slightly.
The lieutenant blushed a little "Like I said.. I think I was a little rash to bring Tifa-chan.. she's fallen for Ishida-kun.. but then again. I'm missing my own love, too.. heh.."
Nathifa scoffed and shifted slightly, face burning in a blush as Sato spoke the truth, but not denying it. She did have feelings for Uryu.. they both were practically the last Quincies.. It seemed to attract the two of them like moth to a flame.
Stretching out, Sato gave a broad smile "I could go for a really good spar with him right about now. We'd nearly kill each other, too. It's kinda amazing I didn't end up in Squad 11, but hey. I'm thankful for where I'm at with Ukitake-taichou. Ken-chan scares me sometimes.."

”Hmm…fond thoughts. I see…” Xeon wasn’t not stranger to love. He had never been in love, but for one thing, he was almost completely oblivious to it seeing the never thought fondly of anyone to become so attracted to them. The only person, or rather thing, to make him think so calmly and passionately was the spirit of his Zanpaktou, Rosemary. A weapon that was meant for beauty and protection rather than fighting an all out battle.
”I can relate.” he had simply said without hinting to who or what. He had smiled as he given a light nod of his head that could be compared to there fondness of the subject. ”When you have feelings for someone, it’s good to express it through the most romantic gestures. I would rather show that with a flower. It’s because if you have a flower, they will make out all sorts of words just by offering one to someone.” he had explained.
Reaching into his right sleeve, he had brought out a single root as he held it in his right hand. It didn’t seem like it was defined. Not that of a rose, nor lily, not anything. That was because it was an undefined white root that took the form of the proper flower he desired just by channeling his reitsu and pressure to display a spell. ”Many would want to know the language of a flower.” he had noted as this fingers had let off a small dose of the spiritual energy letting it swirl around the flower until a stem grew no longer showing roots as it’s colorful petals came in and he offered it to them both.
”A Marvel-of- Peru…” he had said letting them keep it. ”Don’t worry. It’s not from me, but it is the best to describe you both right now.” he said with a blissful smile.
